When I got my pool for the 20 minutes I was trying to make a Simic () elemental list with and other elementals, but in order to make it work I think I needed to play more than two colours, which I think I didn't have the mana fixing for.
Then I was trying to make a Golgari () Elf list with and , but I couldn't figure out how to make it work.
So I panicked and ended up playing a Boros () list.
As you could expect after a panic decision, I didn't do so well. I went 1-2 in the tournament, and the 1 was because I got a BYE.
The first game I lost 0-2 versus Bant (). I ran which I think was a mistake, because it was just dead in my hand for 2 games. I got a bit unlucky with land draw, but I think I would have lost anyway. Once I got it in play, I was already behind, and I couldn't catch up.
The second game was a BYE, so I spend that hour to rethink my life choices.
The last game I lost 1-2 versus Esper (). A memorable moment was when I cast on my opponents mana dork, so I could attack freely for the first game win. The second game was close, but once my opponent got a few lifelinkers and I couldn't answer that, I lost. In the third game I had to mulligan to 5, and I never recovered from that.
Looking back on my pool, I think playing a three or four color Elements list could have worked out, there might be enough fixing after all. Or Golgari () was the way to go anyway.
is a card that look good, but are a likely limited trap, it's definitely a good card, but only when you have a full board of the same creature types when you cast it.
A card I wish I understood how to play was . I have no clue how how to make that work. Another card that went over my head was , which I think definitely should have played but I kinda forgot that attacking creatures are tapped.
